Protests at the Olympia State Capitol

What do you do when you start a travel site and the whole world goes on lockdown?

I decided to document as much as possible. I was on my way to take some photos of the Olympia’s Farmer market and noticed a small group of protesters standing on the Capitol’s lawn.

An hour later, I was on my way back home and that small group had significantly increased in size. I thought, “I was a photojournalist in the military, if I was willing to photograph war, I should be willing to photograph this.”

I’d describe myself as a Liberal, and I didn’t quite know what to expect. I expected worse. Strangely, I had fun.

My opinion of the event. While there was some wild stuff there. There was a general feeling of happiness and excitement. People were celebrating. I think this protest may have been motivated by both politics and sheer loneliness and being tired of being stuck at home.

Stay safe. Be nice to each other.
